Lambda-CDM
The Lambda Cold Dark Matter model is to the Cosmic what the Standard Model of Particle Physics is to the Quantum (see section below). Referred to as the standard model of Big Bang cosmology, the Lambda-CDM is based on 6 key parameters - five of which have been measured to incredible accuracy:
Physical baryon density: how much ordinary (baryonic) matter is in the universe (see chart)
Dark matter density: how much dark matter is in the universe (see chart)
Age of the universe: 13.8 billion years with an uncertainty down to +/- 20 million years
Scalar spectral index: how density fluctuations vary with scale leading to structure formation
Curvature fluctuation amplitude: geometrically, how flat is the universe?
Reionization optical depth: how much primordial light has been absorbed or scattered from source to detection through re-ionization of background
Energy Density = 1
Mass/Energy Distribution
